The North Judson Mint Festival gets underway today and several activities are set for the weekend.
Saturday’s activities include the Dr. Ufkes 5K run/2 mile walk at 7 a.m. with registration at 6:30 a.m., the Masonic Lodge pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 50 Lane Street, the car show registration from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the corner of State Road 10 and Ufkes Drive with judging at 11 a.m. and the trophy presentation at 1:30 p.m., and the cooking with mint registration is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with judging at 11 a.m. CT.
New this year is the golf cart/poker run hosted by the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and it will begin at 10 a.m. will end at 1 p.m. at the fire department.
The blind draw for the cornhole tournament is at 10 a.m. with the tournament beginning at 11 a.m. at Route 10, the pedal tractor pull registration is at 10 a.m. with competition to begin at 11 a.m., the pet parade registration at 10 a.m. with the parade at 11 a.m., the book sale at the North Judson-Wayne Township Public Library is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Kersting’s Mint Fest ride registration is at 3 p.m. ET at Kersting’s Cycle Center with the ride beginning at 4 p.m. ET, the frog jumping contest is at 3 p.m. CT, the cornhole tournament is at 4 p.m. at the Irish Pub, the pie eating contest is at 4 p.m. at the corner of Main Street and Keller Avenue, and music will be ongoing at Norwayne Field beginning at 5 p.m. CT.
The fireworks are set to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. CT at Norwayne Field.
Sunday’s activities include the pancake breakfast and bake sale from 7 a.m. to noon in the Catholic Church basement, the Heartland Christian worship is at 10 a.m. at Norwayne Field, the parade registration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with line-up and judging from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation and the parade beginning at 3 p.m., and the flag burning ceremony by the American Legion Post 92 at the Post at 208 Collins Street at 1 p.m. CT.
Music will be live from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Norwayne Field.
