The Starke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that occurred Sunday, June 23 just after midnight where a person was injured in a pedestrian and car accident.
Deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office say Starke County EMS personnel were tending to a patient with an apparent foot injury. The victim, 29-year-old Lonzell Pettit, of Wheatfield, reportedly suffered the injury when he was crossing the street and an unknown vehicle ran over his foot at a high rate of speed in the 3600 E. block of County Road 210.
The incident remains under investigation.
