Two Knox Residents Arrested in Marshall County on Suspicion of Drug Possession

Two Knox residents were arrested Monday, June 3 after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a call of a suspicious man in a home on Sage Trail.

Police say the man left the home and was followed by the caller until stopped by a Marshall County officer. A subsequent investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Marshall County Drug Task Force. Officers reportedly located numerous syringes, synthetic marijuana, heroin and methamphetamine. Two suspects, 41-year-old Avery A. Mullins and 33-year-old Chelsea M Schuchardt, both of Knox, were transported to the Marshall County Jail. Mullins faces preliminary charges of possession of hypodermic needles, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of methamphetamine. Schuchardt faces a preliminary charge of possession of a hypodermic needle and was also found to have a warrant through Starke County, according to the report.

The cash bond amount is $3,000.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
