The Winamac Town Council took action last week to approve an ordinance that amends the cost of trash collection for commercial customers within the Town of Winamac.
The previous ordinance provided for the collection of commercial garbage and trash at a cost of $21.50 which includes the cost of two toters for commercial or business customers.
Commercial and business customers who would only desire to have one garbage toter instead of the two for trash collection may submit a request to opt out of one toter with a pro-rated reduction in the cost in the amount of $10.75. The customer shall only be charged for the one toter that remains. All other charges for trash collection will remain the same.
The Winamac Town Council approved the amendment as presented.
The ordinance will be in effect 30 days after it has been properly published.
