Work Continues on Town Park Improvement Project in North Judson

Construction continues in the Town Park in North Judson.

Several new elements are taking shape in the park including the half-mile walking trail around the outer edge of the park, and the volleyball and pickleball courts.

Town Manager Joe Leszek said the project is on schedule with the first phase of the project. The second phase which includes playground equipment should begin in mid-July. Leszek said the entire project should be substantially complete in October.

As previously reported, Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe said a zip line feature is anticipated along with new slides, and a cliff rider and climbing feature.

Equipment will also be ADA accessible. There will also be a natural playground and a pergola.

Rowe said sidewalks will also be a major player in this update as they focus on ADA accessibility.

Two pickleball courts, a shelter, and beach volleyball are proposed in this project closer to the ball diamonds. The basketball court will be resurfaced, and permanent cornhole boards will be installed.

There were some elements that were taken out of the project as the council attempted to keep down costs of the project. Mark Rippy from the Ober Arbor Gleaners organization asked the town if there were local projects that the organization could help fund and the council thought that the assistance in the purchase of picnic tables, one ADA accessible, for the park would be a great community asset. Rippy said the proposal would be brought before the Ober Arbor Gleaners for approval.
