The Community Foundation of Pulaski County has awarded $80,745 in grant funds to local nonprofits and community organizations so far in 2024.
The Uptown Project has received $10,000 for their Windows of Opportunities project. The Lucas CPR Device project was awarded $52,435 to support all five of Pulaski County’s volunteer fire departments. The American Legion received $8,310 to go towards a roof repair, and Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission received $10,000 to resurface playgrounds in the county.
Community Grants are made possible through unrestricted and field of interest funds. Grants are awarded at the discretion of the Foundation Board, via the Grants Committee, to ensure that Pulaski County continues to be a place to thrive and grow today and tomorrow.
In addition, unrestricted funds have been supported by special initiatives from the Lilly Endowment Inc. The Endowment recently announced a generous 2:1 match through the Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative, Phase Eight (GIFT VIII). Thanks to this initiative, gifts to unrestricted funds such as Community Grants will be tripled through December 31, 2025.
Grants are reviewed and awarded three times per year. The remaining deadline for 2024 applications is October 1. For more information, visit the Community Foundation website at www.cfopc.org/grants, email info@cfopc.org, or call 574-946-0906.
