The North Judson Town Council received a generous gift from the Ober Arbor Gleaners during their meeting Monday, July 15.
Gleaner Member Mark Rippy appeared before the town council previously and asked how the organization could help in terms of projects in the park or other needs in the town. The council members said the purchase of picnic tables to compliment the Town Park improvement project would be great upon the approval of the organization. The tables will be placed under the newly constructed pavilion.
To trim down costs, the council took out that feature of the project when approving a bid. They were going to include them in a separate purchase in a future budgeting process.
Rippy told the council Monday night that the Ober Arbor Gleaners held their meeting last week and approved a donation to the town in the amount of $8,244.25 for five picnic tables. One will be ADA accessible. They will match the picnic tables that are currently at Norwayne Field.
The council thanked the organization for their generosity on behalf of the citizens of the Town of North Judson.
