The Pulaski County Commissioners approved health insurance when they met last week.
Commission President Chuck Mellon stated that the cost in health insurance was flatlined for the past couple of years, but this year’s proposed renewal increase is 11.73 percent.
Mellon noted that the county’s increase is lower than average increase of 15 percent, according to the company.
PPO experienced a slight increase which involves 13 people, and the Health Savings Account had a slight increase where 78 families are enrolled. Vision stayed the same, but dental coverage will increase five percent.
The commissioners unanimously approved a motion to move forward with approving the health insurance with the increases as presented.
The health insurance renewal policy begins August 1.
