A motor vehicle accident in the area of County Road 1250 West in Pulaski County Saturday, June 29 claimed the life of the juvenile driver.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was traveling westbound in the area of County Road 1250 West when for an unknown reason it ran off the south side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a mailbox prior to making an abrupt maneuver to get back on the roadway. The over-correction caused the vehicle to lose control and slide off the north side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree, according to the report.
Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, a single male juvenile occupant was located inside of the vehicle. Medical aid was attempted, but was unsuccessful due to the nature and extent of injuries sustained.
Police say it appeared that speed was a contributing factor in the crash. The male driver was wearing his seatbelt.
Family has been notified, but the decedent’s name was not released.
