Starke County Plan Commission, BZA to Meet Tonight

The Starke County Plan Commission will meet tonight where the members will hold a public hearing pertaining to the flood damage prevention ordinance for Starke County developed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Water. The ordinance will be up for consideration after public comment is taken.

The commission members may take up discussion on a possible pond ordinance. It was tabled from last meeting.

The Starke County Plan Commission will meet today at 5:30 p.m. CT, followed by the Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The members will open a public hearing to consider an area variance with a developmental standard request by Melissa Soltis to split a piece of property to build a dwelling that will be less than two acres in the area of 4335 S. Range Road in North Judson.

Another public hearing will be held to consider an area variance with a developmental standard request by John Battistoni to make multiple splits and build accessory structures on each split for storage purposes east of 7315 N. and 1175 E. in Walkerton.

Both meetings will be held in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex No. 1 building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
