Two Democratic Caucus Events Set to Find New Auditor, Railroad Township Advisory Board Member

Starke County Democratic Chairman Lonnie Boley has called two party Caucus events to fill vacant seats in two county positions.

The Democratic Party is looking for a candidate to fill the Starke County Auditor’s seat following the resignation of Rachel Oesterreich. Candidates interested in filling the seat must file, in writing, a Declaration of Candidacy to the Starke County Clerk 72 hours, or 3 days, prior to the Caucus date of Monday, July 22. A copy of the Declaration of Candidacy should be provided to Starke County Democratic Chairman Lonnie Boley at 9840 E. 500 N., Grovertown, IN 46531.

The Caucus will be held Monday, July 22 at 5 p.m. CT at the Nancy. J. Dembowski Community Center at 55 Lake Street in Knox.

Additionally, a Starke County Democratic Caucus will be held the same day to replace a Railroad Township Advisory Board member. Any candidate interested in filling the seat should be a Democrat in good standing and reside in Railroad Township. Candidates should file, in writing, a Declaration of Candidacy with Starke County Democratic Chairman Lonnie Boley at 9840 E. 500 N., Grovertown, IN 46531. Paperwork should be filed 72 hours, or 3 days, prior to the Caucus date of July 22.

Eligible Democratic Precinct Committeemen will be able to vote on the candidates to fill the vacant seats.
