Accident Causes Damage at Fletcher’s Cemetery in Hamlet

A single-vehicle accident caused damage at Fletcher’s Cemetery Saturday, August 3.

According to the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, the Dispatch Center received a call at about 7:20 p.m. CT about an accident at Fletcher’s Cemetery at 6999 E. 400 N. The caller stated that the vehicle had crashed through the fence and caused damage to headstones at the cemetery.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found that a blue 2013 Ford Mustang owned by David Zachary was heavily damaged and it had come to a stop in the cemetery after the crash, according to the report. Police say the vehicle was driven by Jonathan Bragg who told officers that he lost control of the vehicle and it went off the road and into the cemetery.
