A Knox man was arrested Thursday, August 8 shortly before 9:30 p.m. CT after a Knox City Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of North Heaton Street and East Water Street in Knox.
The officer found that the lone occupant of the vehicle 39-year-old Steven Wallen, Jr., of Knox, was allegedly operating the vehicle and violating specialized driving privileges. During the traffic stop, the officer also located a small amount of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia on his person, according to the report.
Wallen Jr. was taken to the Starke County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hypodermic syringe, habitual traffic violator, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and driving while suspended.
Formal charges will be determined by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
