North Judson Town Council Updated on Park Project

The North Judson Town Council members were updated on the park project during their meeting Monday, August 5.

Town Manager Joe Leszek explained that a majority of the playground equipment is in, but they are waiting for the bridge component to arrive. The wrong size was delivered so that is being corrected. The pour-in-place aspect of the construction will be starting this week, weather permitting.

The pavilion should be arriving this month and the picnic tables have been ordered. The picnic tables were purchased with a generous donation from the Ober Arbor Gleaners organization. Five tables were ordered with one that has ADA accessibility.

Hill Excavating is working on the walking trail. It will be a gravel trail, but it will be compacted with a hardening chemical to make it passable with ADA accessibility and foot traffic and bicycle traffic.

Leszek stressed that until the construction is complete, the general public should not be on the equipment. He said he understands that there is some excitement about the new features at the playground, but until the playground equipment is fully installed, the town is asking everyone to avoid the urge to use it until safe to do so.

In other news, the fencing at Highland Cemetery will be worked on next week, and crack sealing on about 40 streets in town will start at the end of September.
