Pulaski County Commissioners Approve Courthouse Project Change Order

The Pulaski County Commissioners and Council discussed a change order request involving the courthouse project during their joint session Monday.

Pulaski County Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer announced, a change order request to replace the current hydronic system piping with new branch piping has been asked to be approved. Origer stated as HVAC and plumbing contractors dove in to their work, it was advised a full replacement be done instead of refurbishing the current system as previously planned. Origer stated, replacing the piping in full would hide more exposed pipes above the ceiling and stated the estimated cost of the change order is in the ball park of $65,000.

Origer stated, there is a $20,000 allowance for the bandage approach that was already built into the construction costs that would be applied to this request reducing the total amount of the change order to $45,000. He stated, Tonn and Blank, Luminaut, and the HVAC and plumbing company all agreed this would be the correct decision for long term performance. Origer said he would only need approval from the commissioners to move forward with the change order.

Commissioner Maurice Loehmer made a motion to approve the change order brought forth. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
