The Starke County Commissioners discussed utility bills in the Annex No. 2 building during their meeting Monday.
Starke County Court Services Director Shawn Mattraw stated, since consolidation with the probation offices and the health department at the Annex No. 2 building, utility bills have been split by community corrections and probation paying 40 percent with Purdue paying the remaining 20 percent. Mattraw requested reducing the payment to 30 percent for community corrections and probation. He stated, since the health department has been there, it would be equitable for them to chip in as well. He went on to say, Purdue would continue to make their 20 percent payment of the utility bills.
Starke County Commissioner Mark Gourley made a motion to approve the proposal to split the Annex No. 2 building utility bills as suggest by Director Mattraw. Commissioner Charles Chesak seconded that motion and the commissioners voted unanimously approving the proposal.
