Starke County Sheriff’s Department Responds to Accident

Starke County emergency responders were called to a single-vehicle accident in the early morning hours Saturday, August 17 in the area of U.S. 35 near 200 N.

According to the Starke County Sheriff’s Department, the initial officer located a single vehicle off the road next to a residence at that location. The occupants were out of the vehicle with one occupant suffering a head injury, according to the report.

Paramedics at the scene provided initial treatment before transporting one of the injured juveniles to the hospital for further evaluation.

Police say the driver, 31-year-old Danielle Freshour, of Knox, and juvenile were treated at the hospital with non-threatening injuries.

The Starke County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police, Knox-Center Township Fire Department, Knox City Police Department, Hamlet Police Department, and Starke County EMS.
