Deputies from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office were called to a fatality crash Sunday, September 1 at 2:05 a.m. CT in the 8400 North block of County Road 500 East.
The initial on-scene investigation found that a beige 2005 Buick Century was traveling north on County Road 500 East. Police say the vehicle traveled off the east side of County Road 500 East, came back onto the roadway, traveled across both lanes, left the west side of the roadway, and collided with a tree.
The driver, 29-year-old Brandy B. Hardaway, of Buchanan, Michigan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toxicology test results are pending. No further information is available for release.
The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by La Porte County EMS, Kankakee Township Volunteer Fire Department, and the La Porte County Coroner’s Office.
