Mobile Food Distribution Events Scheduled in Starke County

Two Food Bank of Northern Indiana mobile food distribution events are scheduled in Starke County in September.

A distribution event is scheduled for Friday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT at the Knox United Methodist Church at 201 S. Shield Street in Knox. This distribution is provided by the USDA and will serve 200 households.

Another event is set for Thursday, September 19 from 10 a.m. to noon CT at the Lions Club stand at 400 Division Street in Hamlet. This distribution is sponsored by the Hardesty Memorial Endowment Fund through the Starke County Community Foundation and will serve 250 households.

Assorted food items are offered free of charge. All items are pre-boxed and pre-bagged. Food is distributed on a first come, first served basis, and while supplies last for those in need of food assistance. There will be one box or bag per household.

Distributions are drive-thru. Clients are asked to remain in the vehicle and open the trunk of the vehicle to receive items. An area will be available for self-loading if the trunk does not open.
