The Culver Town Council members approved the first reading of an ordinance that pertains to the 2025 budget.
A public hearing on the budget was held during the council’s meeting Thursday, September 26. Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim went over the budget and noted that the down payment for a new fire truck in the amount of $400,000 is planned for appropriation in the 2025 budget, along with $30,000 for a payment on a new street sweeper. The town is financing the purchase of a new street sweeper for almost $280,000.
According to the Notice to Taxpayers on the Indiana Gateway website, the Casino/Riverboat Fund is at $10,500, the General Fund is about $3.2 million, the Debt Service Fund is $150,000, Local Road and Street is $17,070, the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund is $77,570, the Park and Recreation Fund is about $402,000, Building Demolition Fund is $57,000, Cumulative Capital Development is $100,000, the Grant Fund is $3,000, the Opioid Settlement Unrestricted Fund is about $2,300, the Opioid Settlement Restricted Fund is about $2,400, and the American Rescue Plan Act Fund is just under $69,000.
The total budget is about $4.1 million.
The council members are anticipated to adopt the 2025 budget during their meeting Thursday, October 10.
