No injuries were reported in a minor accident involving a car and a Knox Community School Corporation school bus Wednesday, October 9.
The accident occurred at the intersection of 100 W. and 400 S. in North Judson near the beginning of the route. An investigation completed by the Starke County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the driver of a passenger car was traveling west on 400 S. and failed to yield to the right of way of the school bus traveling south on 100 W. at about 6:40 a.m. CT.
Knox Community School Superintendent Greg Mikulich said six students were on the bus at the time and were checked out by Starke County EMS responders. There were no injuries. Police say there were no injuries to the bus driver or the driver of the passenger vehicle.
Both vehicles sustained damage and were towed from the scene by Howard’s Towing.
The North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department also responded to the scene, according to the report.
Mikulich stated the students were able to go to school to continue with the regular school day.
