North Judson Town Manager Joe Leszek informed the town council members last week that REMC will be upgrading the town’s electric service in Norwayne Field in the next couple of weeks.
Leszek said all of the GFI outlets will be changed out and enclosures in the park that are outdated. Enclosures will be less susceptible to malfunction as less moisture will interfere with operations. They will also be separated into 20 amp circuits. The work will be done for free.
Leszek added that NIPSCO will be upgrading the service to 400 amp at the building at Norwayne Field. It will be done free of charge. A trench will need to be done for this project as a new pole is needed and H&T Electric will be donating services to get that done, as well as tidy up wiring.
North Judson Town Council President John Rowe commented that the upgrades could assist the North Judson Mint Festival Committee in making future plans, if the members so choose, to move the festival closer to Norwayne Field.
