Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department Assists Demotte Police Department in Investigation

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is assisting the Demotte Police Department in an investigation into a call about a welfare check Tuesday, October 1 at 1:49 p.m. ET.

Police say a welfare check was requested to locate 28-year-old Timothy Alexander and 27-year-old Kimberly Lareau of Demotte as there were comments made in reference to self harm. The couple was believed to be in Pulaski County.

Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department located the pair near Francesville. They were able to find the vehicle they were using with the use of Onstar around 8:45 p.m. ET. The vehicle was found unoccupied about an hour later in the area of 1250 W. and 300 S. in Pulaski County. Police say a search for Alexander and Lareau involved 80 acres with a drone, but officers were not successful. The search continued on foot in a dense wooded area and with the assistance of K9 Tiko and four deputies, the pair were located deceased just before midnight, according to the report.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department issued an update Thursday, October 3 where the Pulaski County Coroner determined the deaths to be murder/suicide.

Deputies are working with the Demotte Police Department and the Indiana State Police Crime Scene Unit as the investigation continues.
