The Starke County Commissioners will meet tonight where they will hear from Maintenance Director Rich Green about the Starke County Courthouse roof, Annex 2 renovations, seal coating, concrete work, and document shredding.
A highway easement will be reviewed, as well as the commissioner’s appointed position on the Koontz Lake Sewer District.
The commissioners will bring back the topic of old squad cars from a previous meeting, and hear from Lisa Dan about a utility solar workshop.
Commission President Don Binkley will discuss a 1st deputy commissioner position, and the auditor’s office will have an updated handbook, holiday schedule, and approval of payroll and claims.
Surveyor Tom Schouten will have a section corners ordinance, County RV park surface water quotes, and funding for unfunded county ditches, while Court Services Director Shawn Mattraw will have an opioid funding request.
Public concerns will be addressed including the Koontz Lake Parks, the public easement and access to Koontz Lake, the Starke County Highway Department, and a ditch behind a resident’s home.
The Starke County Commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. CT tonight in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex No. 1 building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
