Representatives from Abonmarche Consultants, LLC will begin to conduct door-to-door visits with all water customers in the City of Knox Monday, November 11.
City officials say the water department must complete a material inventory of all water service lines in the city as required per state and federal requirements. The city is working to reduce lead exposure in the water system.
The process includes the verification of service line materials, sharing results and any action taken, executing projects to reduce lead in the water systems, and producing programs, maps, and informative tips used to educate residents.
Beginning Monday, Abonmarche Consultants, LLC personnel will be in teams of 2-3 people and will have PPE gear, badges, letters of authorization and door hangers with them for identification purposes. They will work from noon to about 7 p.m. CT.
