City of Knox Issues Notice Regarding Drinking Water Requirements Testing

The City of Knox sent out notice this week regarding the drinking water requirements testing.

Notice indicated that the city’s water system recently violated a drinking water standard.

It stated, “Although this is not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we are doing to correct this situation. We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. The testing for Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM) and Haloacetic Acids (HAAS) was to be done in August 2024, and we did not test until October 2024. The sample was submitted and passed all the requirements, but since it was submitted late, we are required to post a notice informing our water customers of this error. There is no action required by water customers and usage may continue as normal.”

If there are questions, contact the Mayor’s office at 772-4553 or the Water Department at 772-3032.
