There are two Food Bank of Northern Indiana Mobile Food Distributions planned for this week.
The first distribution event is Thursday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to noon CT and it is sponsored by the Hardesty Memorial Endowment Fund through the Starke County Community Foundation and will serve 250 households or while supplies last. There will be 250 turkeys to be provided during this event held at the Lions Club stand at the Starke County 4-H Fairgrounds at 400 Division Street in Hamlet.
The second distribution event is Friday, November 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT provided by the USDA at the Heartland Church at 6020 S. 300 E. in Knox. This event will serve 250 households and 250 turkeys will be provided.
Assorted food items are offered free of charge. All items are pre-boxed and pre-bagged. Food is distributed on a first come, first served basis, and while supplies last for those in need of food assistance. There will be one box or bag per household.
Distributions are drive-thru. Clients are asked to remain in the vehicle and open the trunk of the vehicle to receive items. An area will be available for self-loading if the trunk does not open.
