Firefighters from the Hamlet-Davis Township Fire Department battled a house fire at 301 Pearl Street in Hamlet Friday, November 8.
They were able to respond quickly and they contained the flames to the bedroom area. The fire was kept under control with minimal damage to other parts of the home.
The Hamlet-Davis Township Fire Department was assisted by the Knox-Center Township Fire Department, Starke County EMS, Starke County Sheriff’s Office and the Starke County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters would like to remind residents of the importance of functioning smoke detectors and regular home safety checks.
