The Oregon-Davis School Board members took action to approve the 2024-2025 teacher agreement when they met Wednesday, November 6.
Superintendent Bill Bennett said the teachers will receive a one percent increase in pay. Those who participate in the family plan received a $2,323 stipend to compensate for an increase in insurance costs. Also, teachers who cover for other teachers in class will be paid $30 per class period.
Bennett noted that with this agreement, a beginning teacher will make $40,591 at the Oregon-Davis School Corporation and the top of the pay scale for teachers is at $64,439.
Additionally, the board approved several donations for students who participated in the recent FFA National Convention. Over $5,000 was collected by businesses and community supporters to help with registration fees, activity costs, meals, housing and parking fees. Leftover funds will be used to purchase extra official dress and convention supplies and other chapter events.
The board also heard from fourth grade students on a recent field trip and what they enjoyed most during the experience.
