The Pulaski County Commissioners were presented with an ordinance during the November 18 meeting that pertains to the implementation of new requirements and fees for Transfer on Death Deeds.
The ordinance follows Indiana Code 32-17-14-26 which allows the commissioners to adopt an ordinance authorizing the auditor to collect a fee in the amount of $10 for the legal description of each parcel contained in a Transfer on Death Deed for which the auditor makes a real property endorsement.
The fees collected will go into a dedicated fund for use in maintaining plat books.
The commissioners unanimously approved the ordinance. It will be published and will go into effect in 30 days.
