A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned Thursday, November 14 to celebrate the installation of a new sign at the Koontz Lake-Oregon Township Fire Station.
Oregon Township Trustee Mark Allen said a new digital sign will replace a sign that stood on the grounds of the fire station since the 1980s. Thanks to a donation of $15,000 from Starke County government, and donations of $1,000 from the Koontz Lake Lions Club and $1,000 from the Koontz Lake Association, the township was able to purchase the sign. The cost of the sign was $34,100 with the balance of the money coming from the township.
All are welcome to attend the ribbon cutting which begins at 5 p.m. CT at the fire house at 7784 N. State Road 23 in Koontz Lake.
