The Culver Community School Board approved the 2025-2026 school calendar when they met Monday, December 16, according to Superintendent Karen Shuman.
Shuman stated, “That will be published on our website soon, but for the most part our start date will be August 13, 2025 and our end date will be May 29, 2026. Everything else in the middle kind of stays the same, but we are going to go to no scheduled virtual days next year. They will only be used for emergencies.”
She noted that virtual days will be used in the case of a canceled day of school, but there is no need to practice for those days.
Additionally, Shuman gave an update to the board on construction projects.
Shuman continued, “We are winding down the bond projects and getting ready to accept bids for the GO [General Obligation] bond projects.”
Those projects involve HVAC updates, resurfacing the track, a football press box and bleachers, softball press box and lights, baseball field and lights, ADA entrance to the Culver Elementary School stage, improvements to the Elementary School Door U entrance and to Door P at the Culver Middle/High School, and a redesign of the Culver Elementary School Cafeteria and Kitchen.
