Firefighters from the San Pierre and North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Departments were called to a structure fire in the area of 725 W. and 250 S. in English Lake in the morning hours Thursday, December 5.
North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Chief Todd Jackson told WKVI News that there was a vacant two-story home at the address which was heavily involved with fire. Despite a confrontational and uncooperative property owner, Jackson said firefighters continued to battle the fire, it was eventually brought under control, and firefighters remained at the scene for about two hours.
Also assisting at the scene was the LaCrosse Fire Department, North Judson Police Department, Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS, Starke County EMA, Starke County Planning Commission, Indiana State Fire Marshal, and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
