A Knox man was arrested following an accident Tuesday, December 17 at 1:45 a.m. CT.
According to the Knox City Police Department, officers responded to the accident near the intersection of John Street east of the apartment complex in Knox. Upon arrival, officers observed a Kia Borrego facing southbound on the railroad tracks with heavy damage.
The driver, 31-year-old Tyler Sullivan, of Knox, was treated for minor injuries at the local hospital. After receiving medical attention, Sullivan was released from the hospital and transported to the Starke County Justice Center where he was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
The accident remains under investigation with the Knox City Police Department.
Formal charges will be determined by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
