North Judson Town Council Approves Fire Service Contracts

The North Judson Town Council members took action last week to approve fire service contracts.

There were no adjustments to the contracts this year, but with initial plans to purchase a new fire truck, those contracts may be adjusted in 2025.

The contract with Wayne Township is in the amount of $24,000, the contract with Jackson Township is $2,500, and the contract with Rich Grove Township is $25,000. The Rich Grove contract was changed to a flat rate contract instead of charged per run.

In other news, the council approved a $500 donation to the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation for the football team’s travel expense to Indianapolis for the state tournament. They made a similar donation for the volleyball team’s previous appearance at the state tournament.

Utility Superintendent Kim Kapp noted that the last day for leaf pick-up was December 5, but if there are nice days and residents have leaves at the curb, her staff will pick up the leaves as needed. She also reminds residents that flushable wipes should not be flushed as they wreak havoc with lift stations and it is costly to repair the lift stations.
