Pulaski County EMS Director Natasha Daugherty presented requests to the Pulaski County Commissioners Monday night.
Daugherty started her presentation by saying that the county is a recipient of a $5,000 NIPSCO grant. Those funds will be used to provide EMR classes for the community which includes the books, workbooks, instructor, full uniforms and other necessary class materials. The commissioners commended Daugherty on writing the grant and ultimately being a recipient of the grant.
She asked the commissioners for permission to purchase a Smartboard to assist with facilitating the EMR classes. Daugherty explained that the purchase would assist with relaying notes, presentations and other needs for the EMR class. It would also be used with other EMT classes, advanced classes, and other courses and training with a medical director. The cost was $4,346 without shipping. A five-year support agreement was also involved.
Daugherty also noted that two Stryker cots were no longer serviceable since a plan had run out for the company to repair them at no cost. She communicated with the company and got a new plan to cover four cots that would cost $12,590 over three years so there would not be costly replacements or repairs to those cots that suffer a lot of wear and tear. Routine maintenance would occur.
The commissioners present voted to approve the Smartboard and the Stryker cot service plan.
