Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Respond to Domestic Dispute Call, Suspect Attempts to Evade Police

Officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence in Winamac Sunday, December 8 for a domestic depute.

The victim told police that Timothy Ross pointed a firearm at her and she fled the residence, according to the report.

Deputies discussed the incident with the victim and Ross was asked to come out of the house to which he complied. He was placed in handcuffs with his hands behind his back and placed in a secured police vehicle that was not equipped with a transport cage.

Officers continued to gather information about the incident and police say the firearm located had been reported stolen.

When the deputy returned to the vehicle, he found that Timothy Ross had his hands now in front of him that that the truck window was rolled down. The deputy escorted Ross to a vehicle with a cage, but during the transition, police say Ross snapped away from the deputy and fled on foot. He made several turns and the deputy lost sight of him.

Extra personnel was requested including thermal drones, and a K9 unit. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office posted about the incident on social media and police say a tip led police to Ross’ location.

Ross was found hiding in some brush near the Pizza King restaurant in Winamac. Ross fled from the deputy, but rounded a corner to meet another officer. Ross was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Pulaski County Jail without further incident.

Formal charges will be determined by the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
