Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Domestic Call

Deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office investigated a domestic dispute call Monday, December 9 where the caller advised two victims sustained severe neck lacerations and a knife was involved.

Officers responded to the residence east of Winamac where they found a woman with a laceration to her neck, but was in stable condition. Law enforcement was directed downstairs where a man was reported to be deceased. When they approached the man to administer medical aid, police say he stood up and charged at a deputy. The man was directed back to the ground and attempts were made to treat the severe neck laceration, but the man continued to fight and kick officers, according to the report.

When assistance arrived, the man was restrained. Once he was restrained, first aid was rendered and successful. The man was stabilized and flown by helicopter for medical care at a regional hospital.

The woman was treated at a Pulaski Memorial Hospital.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release that the investigation in ongoing and no names are being released at this time.
