Members of the Starke County EMS and Starke County EMA Departments recently put forth an effort to deliver Thanksgiving hope to Tennessee flood victims this holiday season.
In September, Erwin, Tennessee was hit hard with flood waters resulting from Hurricane Helene. This flooding destroyed businesses and homes in its path. Over 300 people were displaced as a result.
Last week, volunteers from Starke County EMS and Starke County EMA were happy to transport over 600 pounds of turkeys to Tennessee to help feed those devastated by flood waters in Erwin and help them celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones.
This operation was coordinated by Starke County Commissioner Don Binkley, Starke County EMS Director Jim Garner, Starke County EMA Director Tori Chessor, and Hestia Real Estate Owner Jeremy Chessor. Donations by several local generous business and residents were delivered to Tennessee by Jeremy and Tori Chessor, and Jim and Angie Garner.
