The Starke County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency responders were called to an accident in the 4100 N. block of State Road 23 Tuesday, November 26 just before 4 p.m. CT.
Police say the call was for an unknown injury crash where a vehicle reportedly struck a residence.
Responding officers found a single vehicle rolled over onto the driver’s side against a tree, according to the report. Markings in the grass showed the vehicle traveled 75-100 yards off the roadway, through the front yards of two residences before rolling over and coming to its final rest.
Police say the driver extricated herself from the vehicle prior to medic and police arrival. The driver, identified as 56-year-old Suzanne Henry, of Grovertown, was transported to the local hospital for further evaluation. An investigation for suspected operating while intoxicated was performed with results forwarded to the Starke County Prosecutors Office for review.
The report noted that no residences were struck and no other party was hurt as a result of the crash.
Officers were assisted at the scene by Starke County 911 Dispatch, Starke County EMS, Howards Towing, Washington Township Fire Department, Hamlet-Davis Township Fire Department and Koontz Lake-Oregon Township Fire Department.
