Three people were arrested as a result of an investigation into a Crime Stoppers Tip by the Starke County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday, December 17 just after 5:30 p.m. CT.
Deputies with the Starke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 11100 East block of Division Road. It was reported that 33-year-old Matthew Dean, of North Liberty, was at a residence in this area and had active warrants through St. Joseph County.
Deputies were granted entry to the residence by an occupant of the residence. Deputies saw suspected methamphetamine in plain view, according to the report.
Deputies located Matthew Dean and took him into custody.
A search warrant was applied for and obtained. Police say a search of the residence was conducted for illegal narcotics where suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana and other paraphernalia were located.
As a result, Matthew Dean, 38-year-old Derrick Little, of Knox, and 34-year-old Sharlotte Preston, of Plymouth, were taken into custody and transported to the Starke County Justice Center. They face preliminary felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a narcotic drug, as well as misdemeanor charges of visiting a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
Formal charges will be determined by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
