With temperatures falling this week, officials from the City of Knox and the Town of North Judson are urging water customers to avoid frozen water pipes.
Customers should let a small stream of water trickle from faucets of about the size of a pencil lead to keep meters and pipes from freezing. Keep the water running even when it gets to be 30 degrees because the frost level is still below the meter and water lines. Keep snow around the meter pit as it acts as an insulator.
If there are any questions, call Knox City Hall at 574-772-3032 or the North Judson Water Department at 574-896-2711.
