U.S. Postal Service Proposes to Relocate San Pierre Post Office

The U.S. Postal Service is proposing relocating the San Pierre Post Office due to “severe uncorrectable safety concerns at the former facility” at 104 Eliza Street in San Pierre.

The Postal Service is now looking for a new retail location within the 46374 ZIP Code area. The desired size of the new facility needs to be an existing building that is approximately 900 square feet with dedicated parking, or a land site to lease, approximately 11,000 square feet, in which the Postal Service can bring in a postal-owned modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail services will continue at the LaCrosse Post Office until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.

The U.S. Postal Service will mail a postcard to the impacted San Pierre community, announcing a proposed relocation of the San Pierre Main Post Office. The postcard provides information about the public comment period.

Comments on the proposal may be sent to the following address within 45 days from delivery of the postcard: United States Postal Service, ATTN: San Pierre, IN, Main Post Office Relocation, P.O. BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103.
