
The Town of Winamac, Town of North Judson, and the City of Knox have holiday celebrations planned for community members this weekend to help usher in the Christmas season.
The Town of Winamac’s Winter Wonderland is set for Friday, December 6 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET in downtown Winamac. There will be Christmas stories at the Train Depot, free horse and wagon rides, a chicken and noodle dinner at the fire station from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET, and hot cocoa and a bake sale on Market Street. The electric parade begins at 7 p.m. ET on Market Street. Children will be able to meet with Santa after the parade.
The Town of North Judson invites all to the town’s Christmas tree lighting Friday, December 6. There will be a parade at 5:45 p.m. CT leading to Norwayne Field where the Christmas tree will be lit at 6 p.m. CT. There will be vendors set up for food and refreshments from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. CT.
The City of Knox Peppermint Parade steps off Saturday, December 7 at 3:30 p.m. CT at the Knox Community School Corporation and travels north on Main Street. The parade will end at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center. After Santa is paraded down Main Street he will be at the Community Center to visit with the children and ask what gifts they are hoping for this Christmas. Hot chocolate will also be available.
The annual City of Knox Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be at 5 p.m. CT that evening outside of the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox. The Knox concert choir will sing Christmas carols before the event.
