Knox-Center Township Fire Chief Kenny Pfost provided the Knox City Council members and the Knox Board of Works members with 2024 statistics when they met earlier this month.
The department responded to 76 medical assist calls, 21 building fires, 23 motor vehicle accidents with injuries, 18 motor vehicle accidents with no injuries, 4 accidents, 1 swift water rescue, 16 gas leaks, 3 passenger vehicle fires, 3 motor vehicle/pedestrian accidents, 3 grass fires, and other miscellaneous calls for a total of 288 incidents. Of those incidents, the fire department was dispatched 32 times and told to disregard while en route.
Pfost mentioned that the department responded to 324 calls in 2023 so there were 36 less calls in 2024.
