The Pulaski County Commissioners finalized the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) spending plan when they met for the last time in 2024.
They added $600 for broadband costs as there were some adjustments with the grant, and the commissioners also approved $30,000 to give to each of the five fire departments for a total of $150,000.
The county had $2,399,425 in ARPA funds to spend which was received in 2021 and 2022. The commissioners and council met several times to finalize the spending plan by the end of 2024 required by the federal government.
With the ARPA funds, the county paid for two county ambulances, a freezer for the coroner’s office, broadband projects, a backup generator for the Justice Center and a generator for the Highway Department, Sheriff’s Department increases, Clerk’s scanning fees, a Stryker power lift cot for the Coroner’s Office, Pulaski County Human Services request, a vehicle for the coroner, local match for a Community Development Block Grant, time clocks from LOW, an EMS Stryker power load system, fiber between the courthouse and the Justice Center, and money for the five fire departments.
The remaining balance is 71 cents.
