Starke County Plan Commission, BZA to Meet Tonight

The Starke County Plan Commission will meet tonight where they will hold three public hearings.

The first public hearing will be to take comments and discuss unsafe structures on property owned by Thomas DeCola at 7310 W. 250 S. in North Judson.

The second public hearing will be to take comments and discuss an ordinance establishing definitions and criteria for standards for commercial solar battery energy storage systems.

The third public hearing will be to take comments and discuss amendments to the Starke County solar energy ordinance.

The Code Enforcement officer will also present a regular report.

The Starke County Plan Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. CT tonight, followed by the Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The BZA members will hold a public hearing on a development standard request made by Sarah Kline to build a second dwelling on an AG zoned area at 4515 S. 800 E. in Knox owned by Sarah Bailey.

The members will also hold a public hearing to consider an area variance request by Anna Krzemien to change the BZA approved size of a garage to a larger garage with a kick out on a corner lot on property owned by Jan Krzemien and Anna at 4987 S. Cranberry Lane in Knox.

Updates will also be given.

Both meetings will be be held in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex No. 1 Building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
