The Hive, a local women’s giving circle started through the Starke County Community Foundation, is accepting video grant applications now through Monday, April 28.
Video applications provide organizations the opportunity to personalize their requests, communicate their passion, and include project team members.
SCCF Director of Development Jacque Ryan shared, “This is intended to be a simple and fun process that does not require professional equipment or expert editing. It gives grantees a chance to show off their organization, project, or program in a dynamic way.”
Applications are due by 5 p.m. CT on Monday, April 28. Dues-paying members of The Hive will cast their votes to determine grant amounts for finalists during their annual gathering on World Bee Day, May 20, at the Knox Community Center.
Annual membership dues for women 23 and up is $120 while members 16 – 22 can pay a reduced amount of $60 a year. Since 2018, The Hive has granted nearly $45,000 to charitable organizations that are making a positive impact in Starke County.
“I hope all local ladies with ties to Starke County will consider joining the Hive!” Director Ryan noted. “It’s so important for members to get their dues in as early as possible because they are used for the grants awarded during the Hive Social Gathering.”
