The Winamac Town Council members reorganized when they met for the first time in 2025 Monday. January 13.
Tom Murray was elected president of the council by a vote with 3-2 with Murray, Alvin Parish and Jim Watkins supporting the motion and Danyelle Weaver and Larry Weaver opposed to the motion. Alvin Parish was elected vice president by a vote of 3-2 with Parish, Murray, and Danyelle Weaver voting in favor of the motion. Jim Watkins and Larry Weaver voted in favor of Watkins for vice president.
They agreed to retain Town Manager Brad Zellers, Town Attorney Justin Schramm, Electric Superintendent Doug Shorter, Water and Wastewater Superintendent Jeremy Beckner, and Park Manager Aaron Spanley.
Robert Klitzman and Nathan Swartzell were appointed to the Winamac Board of Zoning Appeals, Danyelle Weaver was appointed to the Winamac Plan Commission, Rene Calabrese was appointed to the Winamac Park Board, Alvin Parish was appointed to the K-IRPC Board and to the Northwest Indiana Solid Waste District Board, Tim Murray was appointed to the Alcohol Beverage Board, and Tom Murray was appointed to the Galbreath Family Charities.
