
The North Judson-San Pierre School Board recognized several students during their meeting Tuesday, February 18.
Superintendent Dr. Kelly Shepherd said High School Principal Brian Orkis presented Sophia Chaffins, Bailee Frazier, Grace Craig, and Abby Lambert as Rising Stars.

Rising Stars of Indiana is a non-competitive recognition program, designed to honor high school juniors for their academic achievement. By allowing schools to identify outstanding scholars during their Junior year, the hope is to increase their visibility and scholarship opportunities. Each Indiana high school can recognize up to four individual students.
North Judson-San Pierre Jr-Sr High School nominated four members of the Class of 2026. These four students were the top 4 in class rank at the end of their 10th grade year. All four students are committed to their education and are heavily involved in a multitude of extra-curricular, co-curricular and interscholastic athletic activities at the school corporation. Additionally, all four students are also actively enrolled and excelling in Advanced Placement courses, Dual Credit courses, Honors courses, and Career & Technical Education programs and are on track to earn Academic Honors and/or Technical Honors diplomas upon graduation.

Additionally, on behalf of Athletic Director Mike Sharkozy, Dr. Shepherd presented Coach Brett Lambert and the four captains of the 2024 State Finalist Football Team for recognition. The captains ecognized include Cole Kozecar, Jesiah McDaniel, Brock Benson, and Kole Wilcox. Wilcox was not in attendance as he had an extracurricular commitment.
The members of the school board were also presented with a State Runner-Up Medal in recognition for their support and commitment to the entire North Judson-San Pierre school community.
